The 18th match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators, scheduled for Saturday at Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, was called off due to heavy rain and a waterlogged outfield.
Rain has been falling in Rawalpindi since the morning, lowering the outlook for the second game as the outfield got increasingly muddy.
As expected, the second match was called off before a single ball was bowled.
The ground was saturated with water, which extended to regions near the boundary rope.
Even if the rain had stopped, it would have taken many hours to prepare the field for play.
With the game officially abandoned, Islamabad United found themselves in fourth place on the points table with five points, and Quetta Gladiators secured the second slot with nine points.
Notably, the 17th match between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi had also been interrupted earlier due to rainfall.
