Even though his team only managed to secure a point in a goalless draw at Everton, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance thus far in the season.
And that makes perfect sense, given that Emery is carrying on with the excellent work he has been doing since taking over as Villa’s manager from Steven Gerrard in October 2022.
At the beginning of this season, Aston Villa supporters would have gladly seized third place in the Premier League, tied with Manchester City on points and just two behind leaders Liverpool heading into the mid-season break.
However, Emery would be disappointed that Villa only drew with Everton because these are the matches that he may believe Villa should win if they are to advance.
