A campaign group allegedly interrupted a research expedition in the far-off Pacific, according to one mining corporation.

Greenpeace’s observer status within the UN’s International Seabed Association may be revoked by member nations.

According to Greenpeace, the alleged incident was a nonviolent demonstration meant to save a virgin habitat.
Greenpeace is accused of being “anti-science” by The Metals firm, the mining firm in question.

It is the most recent round in a protracted conflict over who gets to access a vast deposit of metals valued at hundreds of billions of dollars that lies hidden beneath the surface of the seabed in some regions of the deep ocean.
