ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to finish his cabinet within the next 24 hours, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Attaullah Tarar said Saturday.
During an informal encounter with journalists in Islamabad, the PML-N leader stated that all issues have been resolved with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).
According to sources, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has also urged the premier to form the federal cabinet as soon as possible and begin executing the party’s agenda.
The directives were issued during an important meeting of the ruling party led by the three-time former prime minister. PML-N high leadership, including PM Shehbaz, were present during the meeting.
The gathering covered topics such as the current political and economic environment, as well as national and international challenges.
The people’s expectations of the PML-N are currently high, according to the PML-N supremo, who also stated that the new government would have to face formidable obstacles.
“Reducing [skyrocketing] inflation is also inevitable,” sources stated, citing Nawaz.
Nawaz lamented the new government’s issues, including as rising prices, saying, “Prime Minister, you should form the cabinet soon and start implementing the [party’s] manifesto.”
The huddle also discussed the appointment of PPP members to the incoming federal cabinet. PM Shehbaz told the group that he would talk to Zardari after he was elected president.
“We will request Asif Ali Zardari after he is elected president,” sources added, citing the prime minister.
