Rose Zhang overtook Madelene Sagstrom with an incredible late charge to win the Cognizant Founders Cup by two strokes.
Zhang finished at the Upper Montclair County Club with a six-under 66, making four birdies in her final five holes to finish at 24 under.
Before Zhang’s late push, Sagstrom appeared to be coasting to win at the 12th hole after making her fifth birdie of the day, putting her three strokes ahead.
The 20-year-old American Zhang declared, “I’m still shaking right now, but I never gave up.” Zhang has won twice in the professional world.
“I always knew that I had something in me to just grind it out and enjoy the time against an extremely solid player.”
