The three directors—Dana Ledoux Miller, Jason Hand, and Derrick—discuss transforming Moana 2 from a television series to a film with alterations to the plot and examining new facets of Moana in an interview with Deadline.
“Can you explain how you turned the TV show idea into a movie?” was the question posed to Miller. “We had to concentrate more on Moana’s story for the film, making her the hero with a bigger adventure,” he responded. We can increase the scale and make it fit for the big screen by turning it into a feature.
