86 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) employees who were detained during the party’s demonstration on November 26 of last year were given post-arrest bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which stipulated that they must be released on surety bonds of Rs 10,000 apiece, as long as they are not wanted in any other cases.
After hearing the bail applications submitted by the arrested PTI employees, a division bench consisting of Acting Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif made the announcement on Wednesday.
A legal team of Ali Bukhari, Sardar Masroof, and Zahid Bashir Dar argued in favor of the petitioners’ release. The court agreed with Advocate Ali Bukhari’s request to lower the surety sum.
