David Beckham honored Kath Phipps, the beloved receptionist for Manchester United, who died at the age of 85, two days after attending the event.
When Beckham said, “Forever in our hearts…,” he became emotional. Kath was always the first and final person I saw while she was waiting to hand me my game tickets at Old Trafford’s reception.
He added, “Everyone knew who Kath was and loved her; she was the lifeblood of Manchester United.”
