On Monday, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) banned all travelers from carrying “commercial quantity” of items into Pakistan from neighboring nations.
A notification about a change to the Baggage Rules 2006 was released by the tax collecting authority.
According to the notification, suggestions for revisions may be made up to seven days in advance, after which they will not be considered.
The letter states that travelers will only be permitted to bring one foreign cell phone for personal use; any additional phones will be seized.
In the meanwhile, the FBR stated that items valued at more than $1,200 that are imported will be deemed suitable for commercial usage.
