At the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, Charles Leclerc won the Formula 1 post-season test. A combination of seasoned drivers and novices took part in the nine-hour test, which took place on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time. Leclerc outperformed Mercedes driver George Russell and former teammate Carlos Sainz, who is currently with Williams, thanks to his Ferrari performance.
Teams were given latitude in their approach due to the test’s unique format. Teams were able to experiment with different setups, fuel loads, and tire compositions since Pirelli, the F1 tire supplier, did not enforce a strict schedule. During the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, rookie drivers utilized the same tire compounds (two sets of C3s, four sets of C4s, and two sets of C5s).
