ISLAMABAD: According to The News on Sunday, Senator Shibli Faraz of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) proposed that if major progress is made, the deadline for talks with the government could be extended past January 31.
With 20 days left before the deadline, Faraz, who is also the Senate’s opposition leader, told a local television on Saturday that the party would soon know where the negotiations are headed. He went on to say that if significant progress was made, a small extension of the deadline wouldn’t be a big issue.
Faraz emphasized that a brief extension might be warranted if the conversations took a positive turn.
The next round of negotiations between the administration and the PTI is also questionable.
