HYDERABAD: According to a lawyer’s leader on Saturday, the lawyers’ protest came to an end on the third day after the police officer they were demonstrating against took a leave of absence.
Since the lawyers sought the transfer of a senior police officer for filing a formal complaint against a confrère, the protest’s ongoing road closure had made the citizens’ problems worse. Roads that have been closed for a long time will be opened to give residents much-needed relief.
On an offer by the Sindh Police for the formation of the judicial commission to end the prevailing tension, lawyers had conditionally agreed to it, demanding, “The SSP should be transferred first.”.
DIG of Hyderabad Tariq Razak Dharejo confirmed SSP Farrukh Lanjar’s leave application was approved, and SSP Tando Mohammad Khan was given the additional charge for Hyderabad.
