KARACHI: After spending several months in Karachi, Onijah Andrew Robinson, an American woman who went to Pakistan in search of love, eventually took a plane back to the US on Friday.
The 33-year-old fell in love with Nidal Ahmed Memon, a 19-year-old, and traveled to Karachi on October 11, 2024. Robinson was left stranded in the port city when Memon declined to marry her due to pressure from his family.
She refused to go back to the United States and stayed in Karachi even though her visa was set to expire on November 10. She tried to enter Karachi airport in mid-January, but she was turned over to the police by Airport Security Force (ASF) officials.
