The reduction in inflation to single digits has been welcomed by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who has voiced optimism that the rate will continue to reduce in the days ahead.
He told reporters on Monday that the central bank’s markup rate had improved and that inflation had now fallen to single-digit levels.
Additionally, the premier expressed optimism that the declining trend in inflation will continue in the foreseeable future. Although he acknowledged the challenging situation when his government assumed power, he said that attempts were made to strengthen the economy.
Even while there were already some encouraging outcomes, he continued, more work was needed to boost the economy.
According to PM Shehbaz, the administration has made progress and is trying to eradicate the culture of favoritism.
