ISLAMABAD: On Friday, a measure was introduced in the Senate that calls for the creation of a commission to protect and monitor whistleblowers.
The measure states that any person, organization, or agency may offer information to the commission as long as the informant certifies that the information is true.
The written submission needs to be accompanied by pertinent documents. The commission won’t act on the information provided, though, if a whistleblower hides their name or gives a bogus one.
Additionally, anything that is thought to be detrimental to Pakistan’s economic stability, strategic interests, security, or sovereignty will not be included.
