As tensions increased after India ordered Pakistani nationals to leave the country, a new verbal sparring match broke out on social media between singer Adnan Sami, who famously gave up his Pakistani citizenship to become an Indian national, and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry.
Fawad’s remarks regarding Indian Home Minister Amit Shah’s most recent directive, which instructs all Pakistani nationals living in India to leave by April 27, sparked the controversy. The deadline for holders of medical visas has been extended to April 29.
Fawad made fun of the Indian move by asking if the singer would also be asked to leave in a post titled “What about Adnan Sami?” on X.
