ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was cleared by an accountability court in Islamabad on Tuesday of several National Accountability Bureau (NAB) referrals pertaining to the rental power projects.
Judge Ali Warraich of the accountability court dismissed Ashraf and a number of other individuals from the Sharaqpur, Bhakki, and Karkey references in his announcement of the ruling on three NAB references pertaining to the rental power projects.
In addition to the Karkey company’s Rs200 billion claim against Pakistan, the Karkey Ship reference had estimated Rs22 billion in corruption. The PPP leader and eleven other people, however, have been released from the case.
