Nigeria’s federal government honored this year’s Workers’ Day celebration by announcing Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday.
In a formal statement released on behalf of the Federal Government on Tuesday, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Interior Minister from Abuja, made the announcement.
Tunji-Ojo praised the dedication and hard work of Nigerian laborers. He recognized that the nation’s greatness and prominence within the international community were largely due to the labor force.
The minister stated that “there is dignity in labor; the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital to nation-building.”
