As the billionaire businessman gets ready to step down his engagement in Washington and return his attention to Tesla, President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged Elon Musk for his contributions to the administration’s cost-cutting program, according to AFP.
Musk may be leaving his informal position as director of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) after making these comments at a White House cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
Trump told Musk at the discussion, “You’re welcome to stay as long as you want,” but he also noted that the Tesla CEO might be keen to resume full-time management of his business.
“You’ve made a lot of sacrifices. He went on to say, “They treated you very unfairly,” alluding to the criticism of Musk’s political role.
