TEHRAN: Iran’s foreign ministry announced Thursday that the fourth session of nuclear negotiations with the United States has been delayed, citing “logistical reasons” as the reason given by mediator Oman.
Following reports of progress in earlier rounds of negotiations, Tehran and Washington were set to meet for a fourth round of talks on Saturday in Rome.
In a statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said, “The next round of indirect Iran-US talks, which were scheduled to be held in Rome on Saturday… has been postponed.”
He went on to say that Oman’s suggestion served as the basis for the decision and that “the next possible date will be announced later.”
