Islamabad United suffered their second loss in the current Pakistan Super League as Peshawar Zalmi defeated them handily thanks to half-centuries from Babar Azam and Maaz Sadaqat.
When Mitchell Owen hit a straight six off the first ball of Kyle Mayers’ period, Zalmi, who were chasing a modest target of 144, got off to an exciting start.
But Mayers retaliated right away, removing Owen on the subsequent ball and brought skipper Saim Ayub and Babar Azam to the crease.
Zalmi was in early difficulty at 12-2 after 1.2 overs when Ben Dwarshuis struck in the next over, dismissing Saim Ayub for just one.
