Co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, who hailed artificial intelligence as a game-changer that will improve public health and save lives worldwide, announced on Thursday an expedited timeline for donating his money.
A revised timeline calls for the Gates Foundation to close in 2045 and spend over $200 billion over the next 20 years. Initially, the organization intended to shut down 20 years after Gates’ passing.
Elon Musk, another multibillionaire tech tycoon, was the target of Gates’ revelation.
The CEO of Tesla pushed through drastic cuts to the US Agency for International Development since Musk “didn’t go to a party that weekend,” Gates reportedly made fun of Musk’s way of life when he told the New York Times.
