The ceasefire between nuclear-armed nations India and Pakistan, mediated by the United States, has been extended until May 18, according to Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Ishaq Dar’s confirmation on Thursday.
Speaking to the Senate, Dar, who is also in charge of foreign affairs, stated that the development occurred on May 14 during a hotline conversation between the two sides’ director general of military operations (DGMO).
On May 10, Pakistan’s Director General Military Operations (DGMO), Major General Kashif Abdullah, and his Indian counterpart, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, had their first round of discussions over a hotline following a truce mediated by the United States between the nuclear-armed nations.
