LAHORE: The heatwave is expected to last till Sunday, according to a forecast released by the Met office on Thursday. In the midst of an ongoing heatwave, the capital of Punjab saw temperatures surpass 42 degrees Celsius today, the highest reading of the summer.
Over the next two to three days, high pressure is expected to engulf most of the nation.
In the southern portion of Pakistan, which includes Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan, daytime temperatures are predicted to stay four to six degrees Celsius above average until May 20 due to this meteorological condition.
Similarly, until May 19, daytime temperatures in the upper half—which includes central and upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan—are expected to stay five to seven degrees Celsius above average.
