A UK skydiver unintentionally dropped his iPhone 13 Pro Max from 14,000 feet, but it was later found completely undamaged and working—even better than before—in an amazing demonstration of smartphone resilience.
During a skydive last month, Casey Flay, a 37-year-old Devon engineer and wingsuit aficionado, had left his phone in an open front pocket. His GoPro helmet camera caught the phone hurtling into the air just after he sprang. When Casey used Find My iPhone to track it after initially believing he had left it on the plane, he discovered it lying in a forest over four miles from his landing location. “When I jump, it just flies off—gone,” Flay remarked. “I believed I had left it on the aircraft.”
