Philip Barantini, the director of Adolescence, appears to have ruled out a sequel to the criminal drama.
The drama, which was made available on Netflix on March 13 and consists of four parts, tells the story of a teenage boy who is suspected of killing a girl in his class.
The series’ themes of online bullying and misogyny have sparked a heated discussion about social media.
When Philip inquired about the potential for a second series in an interview with the Independent, he responded that Adolescence ought to be “a standalone thing.”
