The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) Seismic Monitoring Centre announced on Tuesday that Karachi has now seen 19 mild earthquakes since Sunday.
The most recent tremor, with a magnitude of 2.8, happened at 9:57 a.m. The epicentre of the 16th earthquake was 40 kilometres deep and situated northeast of Malir, about 15 km away.
In the past, two consecutive earthquakes were detected late Monday night: one at midnight with a magnitude of 2.6 and another at 12:23 am with a magnitude of 2.8. Both were located northeast of Malir and reached a depth of 40 kilometers.
The third earthquake, which had a magnitude of 3.2 and a shallower depth of 11 kilometers, struck close to Korangi at 6:42 a.m. on Tuesday.
