According to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, President Donald Trump has the authority to sanction Russia if necessary.

According to her, President Trump is still optimistic about a possible solution to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine, despite his ignorance of the Ukrainian drone strike on Russia.
She stated that the United States now has favorable trade accords with a number of nations and that President Trump will attend the next NATO conference.
