PESHAWAR: Abbas Afridi, a former federal minister, died on Friday from wounds he received in a gas explosion at his home in the Kohat district’s Azam neighborhood.
According to family and police sources, Afridi was seriously hurt in Thursday’s explosion and was being treated at a hospital when he passed away. The event also resulted in injuries to two additional people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif responded to the death of the former minister by expressing his profound sadness and grief and by asking the grieving family for courage.
