WORCESTER: Khurram Shahzad, a promising fast bowler from Pakistan, will play the rest of the county season with Worcestershire County Cricket Club starting in July. Until the end of this season, the right-arm pacer will be allowed to play for the Pears in all three formats.
The 25-year-old Khurram, who hails from Punjab’s Mandi Bahuddin district, is frequently likened to South Africa’s legendary Dale Steyn due to their similar bowling motions and ball-swinging skills. Since making his Test debut in 2023, he has taken 20 wickets in six Test matches, including a career-high 6 for 90 against Bangladesh.
Azhar Ali, the former captain of Pakistan, reportedly had a major influence in the signing. Even Azhar Ali was a Worcestershire player.
