According to his coach, the star forward had a minor muscle injury and will require time to heal before returning to action.
During Miami’s victory over Necaxa last Saturday, the Argentine attacker sustained what Mascherano called a “minor muscle injury” in his upper right leg.
Mascherano remained optimistic that Messi would return to the field soon, despite the fact that there is no defined timeline for his arrival.
“There is good news within the bad news,” Mascherano said reporters.
