KARACHI: Sana Mir, the former captain of Pakistan’s women’s cricket team, became the first female cricket player from her nation to be inducted into the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Hall of Fame on Monday.
The news was made at a ceremony where West Indies great Ian Bishop presented seven new members before to the World Test Championship final.
She was admitted with her 2025 classmates, who included Daniel Vettori of New Zealand, Hashim Amla and Graeme Smith of South Africa, Australia’s Matthew Hayden, India’s MS Dhoni, and Sarah Taylor of England.
The former off-spinning all-rounder, who played for Pakistan for about 15 years, is the seventh Pakistani overall to win the award and one of only 14 women to do so.
