iSLAMABAD: According to reports, Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is completely content with the existing political structure, often known as the “hybrid system,” and has no concerns over the establishment’s involvement in domestic issues.
Nawaz Sharif is a staunch supporter of the Punjab government led by his daughter, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and the federal government led by PM Shehbaz Sharif, although mainly avoiding the media and direct political involvement, according to PML-N insiders.
“The current system is fine with Nawaz Sharif. A senior party source stated that rumors implying Nawaz’s discomfort with outside influence in governance are “completely baseless,” adding that he actually recognizes its limits and accepts its operation without protest.
