Usain Bolt, the fastest man in history, has been formally recognized as a Guinness World Record Icon, a unique honor honoring sportsmen whose accomplishments go beyond sport itself, as a significant tribute to his unparalleled career.
The news coincides with the celebrations for Guinness World Records’ 70th anniversary, which is set for August 27, 2025, just 70 days from now.
During the anniversary festivities in the UK, he was given the Icon award.
Bolt said, “I’m always happy to be recognized by Guinness World Records,” as he accepted his Icon award in front of a wall of his Guinness World Records titles. Being among the greats is an honor, and my goal is to become an icon.
