Reports of a second Congo virus death in Karachi have sparked new worries about the deadly disease’s potential to spread throughout the city.
The dead was a 26-year-old Ibrahim Hyderi native who had been taken to the hospital for infectious diseases. Dr. Abdul Waheed claims that the patient was brought in with symptoms of internal bleeding and a high temperature, all of which are important markers of the Congo virus.
This is the second verified fatality in Karachi in recent weeks that has been connected to the virus. The public is being advised by health experts to exercise caution, especially when handling cattle or traveling to high-risk locations.
