ISLAMABAD: Citing US President Donald Trump’s “decisive diplomatic intervention” and “pivotal leadership” amid the recent crisis between Pakistan and India, the Pakistani government has formally recommended him for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.
The international community witnessed “unprovoked and unlawful Indian aggression,” which the federal government called as a “grave violation” of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in a statement released on X.
The statement claimed that the attack caused the “tragic loss of innocent lives, including women, children, and the elderly.”
Pakistan responded by launching a “measured, resolute, and precise military” countermeasure known as Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. Pakistan emphasized that the operation was carried out “consciously avoiding civilian harm” in order to restore deterrence and protect its territorial integrity.
