President Vladimir Putin says Russian-American relations are beginning to stabilize and attributes the improvement to US President Donald Trump’s efforts.
Putin reiterated his “great respect” for Trump and his willingness to meet with him. Putin said such a meeting was “quite possible” even though careful preparation would be required.
“In general, relations between Russia and the United States are beginning to level out in some ways, thanks to President Trump,” Putin said at a press conference in Minsk.
“The initial steps have been taken and we are proceeding, even though not all decisions have been made in the area of diplomatic relations.”
