Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on the country to support democratic principles, bolster parliamentary institutions, and make sure that the opinions of the people are represented in laws in his Parliamentarism Day speech.
The premier stated in his message that the annual June 30 International Day of Parliamentarism “reaffirms our global commitment to strengthening democratic institutions.”
The day also honors the crucial role that parliaments play in advancing inclusive governance, guaranteeing that women and young people are meaningfully represented, and embracing technological innovation in legislative procedures.
