KARACHI: At the 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championship, Pakistani players maintained their strong play by winning several matches in the quarterfinals, five of which advanced to the semi-finals.
Abdullah Nawaz advanced to the semifinals of the Boys U19 division by dominating Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Kuen in a series of straight games, winning 11-4, 11-4, and 11-6.
Two Pakistani athletes made progress in the Boys U15 competition. The top seed in this age group, Nauman Khan, easily defeated Harshal Rana of India with scores of 11-6, 11-5, and 11-7, and Ahmed Rayan Khalil defeated Armann Merzha bin Ashraff of Malaysia with scores of 11-7, 11-3, and 11-3.
The top-seeded player in the Boys U13 division, Sohail Adnan of Pakistan, easily defeated Abhyuday Arora of India 11-2, 11-8, 11-2 to secure a spot in the semifinals.
