After seeing the Cowboy Carter show, Beyonce concertgoers experienced a somewhat gruesome conclusion.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) was used by those departing Mercedes-Benz Stadium to travel home as the Single Ladies singer marked her last performance in Atlanta as part of her tour.
“Just after midnight on Tuesday, July 15, 11 people leaving the Beyoncé concert at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta were injured on an escalator at Vine City Station,” Stephany Fisher, MARTA’s senior director of communications, told PEOPLE, referring to the mass injuries that occurred as the crowd arrived at Vine City station.
Seven people were sent to the hospital with cuts and scratches, one person refused transport, and one person had a broken ankle.
