LONDON: The high-profile defamation trial between Major (retired) Adil Raja and Brig (retired) Rashid Naseer concluded Thursday. London High Court Deputy Judge Richard Spearman KC focused on journalist Arshad Sharif, claiming that the official Pakistan fact-finding report never linked the Inter-services Intelligence Agency (ISI) to the assassination. This was one of the main tenets of Adil Raja’s evidence that ISI was responsible for the killing in Kenya.

In closing arguments, Simon Harding, Adil Raja’s attorney, contended that the fact-finding report must be viewed as a jigsaw puzzle in order to conclude that the ISI was responsible for the murder of Arshad Sharif in Kenya three years prior. The judge cited a report that was more than 600 pages long.
