Above Leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including the opposition senators Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub Khan, have appealed the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to disqualify them after convictions in cases from May 9 to the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz, two PTI leaders, have petitioned the PHC to overturn the election watchdog’s decision that ruled them unable to hold public office.
Senior PTI leaders asked with the court to reverse the ECP judgment, arguing that it is illegal in separate arguments.
The action was taken a day after nine PTI legislators were de-notified by ECP after they were found guilty in the May 9 cases.
