On Wednesday, the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence was commemorated with patriotic fervor and devotion at the High Commission for Pakistan in New Delhi.
Saad Ahmad Warraich, Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires to India, raised the country’s flag in a stately ceremony at the Chancery Lawns.
The celebration was attended by high commission officers and staff, as well as their families. On the occasion, statements from Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and President Asif Ali Zardari were read out.
The chargé d’affaires paid tribute to the valiant liberation movement, stating that the Muslims of the subcontinent changed the course of history by establishing their own separate nation under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
