RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has asked the city police officer (CPO) of Rawalpindi to file a complaint against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and eight other police officers on the grounds that they were denied privileges at the Adiala jail.
According to The News, the request was made to CPO Khalid Hamdani by the imprisoned former prime minister’s attorney, Tabish Farooq, to register a case against eight people: Maryam Nawaz, the superintendent of Adiala Jail, ASP Zainab, SHO Aizaz, the in-charge of the Adiala outpost, and others.
The petition, which was delivered by courier to the CPO’s office, claims that Imran Khan is not receiving the usual amenities in prison. It claims that even his fundamental rights as a prisoner are being infringed upon at the chief minister of Punjab’s direction.
