Speaking with Sophy Ridge on Politics Hub, Mr. Brown covered a wide range of topics, such as Donald Trump, poverty in the UK, Labour’s green U-turn, and the transgender joke made by Rishi Sunak.
A day after the current occupant of Number 10 made light of Sir Keir Starmer’s record on gender recognition during Prime Minister’s Questions, the former prime minister was speaking to Politics Hub With Sophy Ridge. Esther Ghey was there on the parliamentary estate at the time.
The father of transgender adolescent Brianna, Peter Spooner, has also told Sky News that he believes Mr. Sunak ought to apologize for what he described as the “degrading” and “dehumanizing” comment uttered in the Commons on Wednesday.
Mr. Sunak has attacked Labour Party U-turns by saying that Sir Keir was having trouble “defining a woman.” The prime minister stated that his remark was “absolutely legitimate” and declined to issue an apology.
Mr. Brown has experienced regrets of his own, such as labeling a voter he had just met as a “bigot” following an immigration-related discussion.
Later, he went back to the woman’s home to apologize, calling himself a “penitent sinner” in front of the gathering reporters.
