The man was a rigger, which is to erect scaffolding to support cameras, lights, and other apparatus at various angles. Production was stopped for the day because the accident happened when no filming was underway.
The Los Angeles Police Department claimed that on Tuesday, the man—a rigger—fell from a catwalk onto a stage at the Radford Studios, which is located just outside of Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the guy as 41-year-old Juan Carlos Osorio of Temple City, California, and a Marvel representative verified his death.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident,” stated a representative for Marvel.
Scaffolding is erected by riggers to support lights, cameras, and other equipment at various angles. Production was stopped for the day because the accident happened when no filming was underway.
The inquiry will be conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, represented by its president, Matthew D. Loeb, expressed shock and sadness over the occurrence.
