He was born in a Muslim family in Hoshiarpur District of Indian Punjab in 1895 and after graduating from Islamia Madrassa Lahore in 1918, he taught at Aitchison College Lahore before joining Punjab University to study law.

The Pakistan Institute of Education released a report on Tuesday detailing the success of its “Zero Out-of-School Children (ZOOSC)” program in Islamabad, which was carried out in conjunction with JICA and the Ministry of Education and Professional Training.

More than 70,941 children in Islamabad have been enrolled in schools as a result of this initiative, bringing the capital’s out-of-school population to zero.

Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, the Federal Secretary of Education, was the keynote speaker at the report launch ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Muhammad Shahid Soroya, Director General of the Pakistan Institute of Education, Dr. Nasir Mehmood, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University, JICA members, and representatives from other NGOs.

Secretary of Education Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry said the results gained have been documented and will help serve as a guide for the provinces in the future. He appreciated the field workers of the partner organizations working with the Ministry of Education for their fast-paced work.

He stated that Islamabad was presented as an example, and that there were numerous hurdles at the start of the campaign since educational facilities are not equal. He stated that the field team plays an important role in fast-tracking any work. It is tough to produce such excellent results when there are multiple stakeholders.

He stated that 49% of the 70,000 out-of-school youngsters placed into schools are girls. Two transgender schools have opened. He stated that the children who work in workshops and stores have dreams as well, and that we have worked to make those goals come true.
