On Tuesday, the cabinet minister withdrew her statements in the open following the initiation of libel proceedings by two members of Research England’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
“This wasn’t a misunderstanding,” stated Dibyesh Anand, the University of Westminster’s temporary deputy vice chancellor and one of the expert panel members the minister did not specifically name.
He described Ms. Donelan’s intervention as a “malicious and vindictive attack on individuals connected with news at worst, but irresponsible at best.”
