LAHORE: As part of her attempts to protect expats from fraud, Punjab’s first female Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, announced on Friday the introduction of a property transfer service for Pakistanis living outside.
The chief minister made the remarks while presiding over a special meeting of the Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) on reform.
The Pakistani diaspora would have access to property transfer services such as mutation, e-filing, and land registration.
CM Maryam directed that the service be launched as soon as possible for Pakistanis living in the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf countries.
She demanded that the property transfer services for the Pakistani diaspora be completed on time, and she requested a record of the province’s government land.
During the meeting, the newly elected chief minister was briefed on the activities of the Punjab Land Record Authority.
Maryam requested that measures be taken to create roadside small gyms and parks on government land. She also directed that land facilitation centers be established in each area.
The gathering was informed that the land facilitation facilities would be established in 11 divisions by June 30. The participants were also informed that the land records of 5,798 Mauza would be available online until December 2024.
The chief minister was advised that the online land record project would begin in ten districts across the province. She learned that 811,044 acres of government property would be used for corporate farming.Earlier in the day, while presiding over another urban unit meeting in Lahore, Maryam stated that detailed planning was required for Punjab’s Regional Economic Corridor (REC).
