For more than 4.5 billion years, the moon and Earth have been in an orbit around the sun.
According to experts, the moon was formed when an asteroid the size of Mars struck Earth, sending pieces of it scattering into space and finally coming together to form what we now know as the moon.
It’s hard for us humans to conceive what life on Earth would be like if the moon suddenly disappeared because we are so used to it.
But is it really feasible for the moon to disappear or float away? And what would happen if it did?
The moon could vanish due to a very small number of astronomical events, according to Noah Petro, project scientist for NASA’s Artemis 3 moon mission, as was reported by Space.
